So in a PM just now I described the condition Basschatitis. In the interests of medical science, I suspect we - as suffsrers - need to clarify symptoms and define treatments.

Feel free to contribute......

The pathological compulsion to advocate for the merits of the P-bass with flats.

No cure known to medical science.

Ah, but no cure needed for those afflicted :)

Posting "I am done, GAS is over" to be followed by selling on/replacing every single bass within days/weeks. And repeat

I resemble this remark.

Also arranging two hours drives to meet up at a service station, audition each others bass in the car park and then geek about bass over a coffee inside.

More basses than days of the week.

Check.

Days of the month.... Check.

Looks like days of the year is the next logic target. 🙈

Possible cures:

- Fitting with a Kiogon loom (if allergic to passive - try a John East pre)

- Try 'wearing' TI flats

- High quality bitsa

- Needs to be sub-8lbs

Ah yes, another symptom. Inability to see beyond basses designed at least 60 years ago.

Has two of a pedal.

Oh bugger, is that actually a thing? I said to my band on Thursday that I might need two Octave pedals as I feel one is not enough.
