I was trying to work out why you had a lanyard with JD Vance’s face on it

It was a picture I took in March when I was at the guitar/bass show “do you look smart?” - the lanyard obviously confused the genius AI and it put a face on it.

Is this where every single “what bass is best for x” you’ll pop up and say “oh a soloking”?

Wha? Sold? Really..?

I'm the OP - I bought mine back in 2023 before all you coat-tail riders came in ;)

Pickguards being ordered tonight.

just think that SoloKing will charge £25-£30 plus waiting for a few weeks and possible import.

Brian Pilanz will do great work so he’s sorting me and @Machinesout with my pickguard going as a template.

Going aged white Pearl for LPB and aged tort for black.

tried chrome knobs on last night - they don’t look right…

You're right, Andy. Chrome rotary controls don't look right on it.  I actually quite like the small black ones. They're quite distinctive.

They’ve grown on me.

I might feel differently when the pickguards are changed.

i have a drawer full of controls…maybe jazz style knobs will work.

The original Fender Roscoe Beck lV came with chrome knobs, but the V came with black, Strat type knobs, which I think would be my choice.

I dunno, I've paid less for a car in my time...

Me too, but I reckon one of these Soloking basses would be better value for money and more reliable. :D

Did you just email your credit card details across to SoloKing for the scratch plates?

No - they didn’t reply, so I’ve just ordered via an eBay pickguard guy I’ve used before.
