Hi all,

Does anyone know anyone who sprays bass bodies? I'm north West based, but I don't supposed that really matters if I can post.

I'm just looking at changing a cheap bass into a flashy looking one :)

If the cost of respray is too high you could also look at vinyl wrapping, may be cheaper. There's been some threads on it in the past. Just a thought/ option.

Great idea, thanks. I'll have a look, that might save a lot of hassle too.

I know a guy that does vinyl work and based in Sale, just outside Manchester. If you wanted a flashy printed design he is brilliant at that sort of thing as well.

If this is Al you're talking about then seconded.  He does excellent backdrops, banners and bass drum heads too.

It is indeed. I'll be enjoying a pint or two with him on Christmas Eve at the local craft brewery.

I would personally seek out an airbrush specialist painter, then you could have a real trick paint job.

Depends on what you want and how much you want to pay.

Any professional car painter can do a solid or a burst, won't charge the moon, and it'll be a top notch finish.

At the risk of derailing this thread, I've not been to Stubborn Mule yet, any good?

Absolutely. Great range of beers and the pop-up food vendors are great. We normally pop in every weekend if I'm not gigging.

I've done one myself and got a pretty decent finish. You'll need a shed or garage with a heater to get a decent finish and it'll cost around £80 in materials.

Good prep is everything if you want a good finish.

It was my daughters Peavey International IV I painted. After four years of clumsiness, carelessness and general abuse it still looks great. That was also a cheap bass and it sounds great.
