Gibson Grabber Pickup replica

Hi there folks, do you guys know anyone who makes replicas of the gibson grabber's pickup, the sliding one, dark sounding, P kind of sound ?

Mike Dirnt plays a Grabber in quite a few Greenday tunes and I love the sound of them. I can see why you’d like one.

They’re excellent pickups - the same units were fitted in their early-mid ‘80’s Explorer bass, and I absolutely loved mine.

 

I don’t know who would make an exact replica, but they’re single coil so something like the Nordstrand Big Single ought to sound similar.

Seymour Duncan Custom Shop do a Ripper Bass pickup, don't know if that's anywhere near a Grabber pickup though.

That was a G3, very different tone.

The standard Grabber had a single pickup so didn't have the bedspring twang of the G3.

Thanks guys for all the responses, I'll check the explorer for certain. I am meaning to build a custom with these pickups, hoping to go 5 strings, maybe fanned hihi.
