Hello!

Picked this Japanese beaut up on a whim the other day, because you can't have too many Sunburst Precisions.... right?

Spec... Jazz neck, oval tuners, light weight (8½lbs, thanks to the basswood body, which is surprisingly pretty).

So far, the usual cliches apply. It's very resonant, balances well, feels great, it's rich and punchy... I'm gigging it on Boxing Day, and as ever the proof will be in the (Christmas) pudding.

I'll report back..

What a stunning bass!

The 'burst is beautiful. It's very contrasty, just like the best Fender Custom Shop finishes. P Bass with a Jazz neck is always a bit of a treat, too.

That looks a very good purchase. I hope you enjoy it.

Nah, haven't seen many. This one was imported by the previous owner.

I’m pretty sure there was a white/tort/rosewood one of these in Bass Bros earlier in the year. I don’t know who the signature guy is but the bass looked ace.

I'd really like a white one.

I find this amusing that someone would have such bass as their signature model. It is literally the most banal Precision ever. Rosewood/sunburst/tortoise. Meeeehhhh.

But enjoy it dude :D

Try and buy another with this spec off-the-shelf.

Whilst appreciating that this is a signature model where I guess anything within reason goes, did many P basses come with lollipops as I normally associate these with the J basses?

No. A few one-offs back in the day, but that's it.
