NBD - Fender Hama Okamoto signature Precision

They're really nice basses and Fender Fever are ace to deal with.

I'm not playing mine much and always pick up my Limelight first, so am umming and arring over selling it. Then I play it and just love the neck. Seems a shame for it not to be played so I keep on thinking about shifting it and the loop starts all over again 😂

I do exactly the same with a few of my basses 😁, the last thing I need is another precision but they do look like a nice instrument

These have a basswood body, not alder as specified by BassBros.

That’d really annoy me if I bought it thinking it was alder, and found out later is wasn’t.

I'd be quite miffed to buy a Precision Bass only to find it has a Jazz width neck also! That combination has never felt right to me even though I'm quite happy with a 38mm width on a Jazz.....

Why? I mean: if it sounds good, why care? The finish isn't translucent so you wouldn't see the difference anyway.

I feel the same. The ad should be corrected, but I wouldn’t say it’s something to get annoyed about.

Even the Sunburst example I had looked like alder.

Why? Because it matters to me.

Good for you both if it doesn’t matter to you 😊

Of course a shop, seller or manufacturer should provide the correct specs when selling an instrument but if I'd find out one of my basses is a different wood than I thought it was, and it's not a crazy expensive bass with very cheap wood, why does it matter?

I just like my Fenders to be Alder. And it’s not cheap IMO.
But genuinely, if you’re cool with it, then that’s fine, I’m just not cool with it 👍

It wasn't intended to be. If you could point out the bitchy bit, I'd be grateful.

You said “but I wouldn’t say it’s something to get annoyed about”. Which could, rightly or wrongly, easily be interpreted as ‘you’re wrong and overreacting’ - so where the discussion in that? That could be perceived as a closed statement.

My earlier comment was intended to simply say that it matters to me, and it’s fine if it doesn’t matter to you - hence the smiley. But your later comment about a ‘discussion forum’ came across as an antagonist, to me anyway.

Wrongly. I was just quoting you..!

I was just genuinely curious as to why it would annoy you.
