Got to be Psycroptic for me, some of the most inventive but catchy techy death metal, and the later albums keep getting better watch is always nice to see.

My favourite find of the year was Virgin in Veil, a Finnish band. One for fans of the punkier end of goth like Rozz Williams era Christian Death or Southern Death Cult:

That's my friend Mikey playing sax, he's an amazing player and a lovely guy to boot. They've been going for like 10 years so its about time they were getting some love outside of Glasgow.

My fave new music this year is probably GoGo Penguin, great trio jazz that is listenable and innovative at the same time.
