Pow_22
Does anyone here use one of these trouble free? Basically on paper they look perfect for my current needs and there are a few appearing used for sale. However, my usual pre-purchase digging is just bringing up lots of horror stories (mainly on talkbass i may add) of unreliable power amp sections. Im also aware though that for every bad story there are quiet happy users. I like the idea of a valve pre amp combo with the option of the vintage and modern settings and read that the b15 inspired vintage setting cops a great tone. Im aware that the driver wont put out anywhere near 600w but volume isnt generally to much of an issue with my current band. So, any happy users here or are all the horror stories true? Downunderwonder
I think I may have played one on a festival backline a couple of years ago. It was an Ampeg 15 combo of the non retro look. It had the scrambler option which I left off. I plugged in my fx board and was happy. Unplugged and left. Sorry that's the best report anyone can manage.
BassmanPaul
No one is ever happy over there on TalkBass. I seem to recall that Ampeg had a few teething problems when the units first came. out but they were taken care of very quickly. I'm sure the current batch of offerings will be trouble free. 1
