G&L L1000 1981 - *SOLD* £1500 Thirsk, North Yorkshire

Great example of a classic bass in trans red from the early days of G&L when Leo Fender was firmly at the helm. Probably some of his finest work right here. 
 

The bass is in great played condition. Plenty of small dings and some checking to the finish but nothing untoward. I’ve had it professionally set up prior to the sale so nice action, oiled fret board and a new set of XL chromes fitted.

 

I’m including a nice G&G hardcase in the sale, not original but a great case nonetheless. I sold a black ‘81 earlier this year for the same money as I’m asking for this which wasn’t as good and with a generic case so I think this represents decent value. All photos are in natural light.

 

I can post if required or meet up within reason. Ideally I would like a straight sale as I’m in the middle of a house renovation so cash and space is king.

and with the lovely headstock (not so lovely from Fender's point of view) that was replaced by the Marmite one.
