Downunderwonder Posted January 5, 2024 Posted January 5, 2024 There's parallel threads all over the place. We could roll them all under one giant NewGearDay thread but that wouldn't be much fun. How about "This year's 1st purchase of gear I don't really need"? Quote
Downunderwonder Posted January 5, 2024 Posted January 5, 2024 That would make this the registration thread. 1 Quote
bigthumb Posted January 5, 2024 Posted January 5, 2024 I was hoping to to do this as I have 4 great basses and a first class amp/cab solution. But 5 days in and I've failed already. New (unnecessary) cab incoming 🙄 Quote

paul_5 Posted January 5, 2024 Posted January 5, 2024 (edited) I had a tenor ukulele arrive today, but it was ordered (and more importantly, paid for) before the New Year, so I'm still in the running... Edited January 5, 2024 by paul_5 3 Quote
neepheid Posted January 8, 2024 Author Posted January 8, 2024 I cleared out my eBay watch list today. Also turned off email notifications for saved searches. This clearly shows that I'm serious about this abstaining business 1 Quote

Jean-Luc Pickguard Posted January 8, 2024 Posted January 8, 2024 I was intending to participate in the gear abstinance challenge this year after buying countless basses and guitars last year, however I've just returned home from picking up a lovely secondhand 'Worn Ebony' Epiphone Casino in mint condition at a bargain price. I'll try to abstain from buying any more this year. Quote

Mustangbass87 Posted January 8, 2024 Posted January 8, 2024 I’m in. I bought my Mustang and a Katana 210 in December and I’m hoping to not succumb to GAS this year. 2 Quote

I dunno if I'd have been able to walk away - always fancied a Dimension. Well done! Quote
Burns-bass Posted January 8, 2024 Posted January 8, 2024 It’s a half hour drive and I’m not sure I can be bothered. Still tempted but it’s something I won’t use, so better let someone else have it. Quote
