Being   an Xmas baby  a GAS addict who will stoop very low indeed   I was forced to buy myself a geeetar as I couldn't find a bass that I wanted.

Corrected following review.
Hope the therapy sessions start soon

I was hoping to to do this as I have 4 great basses and a first class amp/cab solution. But 5 days in and I've failed already. New (unnecessary) cab incoming 🙄

You've done better than some :)

I had a tenor ukulele arrive today, but it was ordered (and more importantly, paid for) before the New Year, so I'm still in the running...

I cleared out my eBay watch list today.  Also turned off email notifications for saved searches.  This clearly shows that I'm serious about this abstaining business :D

Don't worry Neeps, I'll let you know of any bargains around Turriff. 🤭

I was intending to participate in the gear abstinance challenge this year after buying countless basses and guitars last year, however I've just returned home from picking up a lovely secondhand 'Worn Ebony' Epiphone Casino in mint condition at a bargain price.

I'll try to abstain from buying any more this year.

Ooh, what turned your head?  Do tell!

I found a Squier Dimension bass nearby for £85. They’re quite rare and it looked great. But I resisted, as I don’t need it.

Instead, I set up my existing bass and realised it does precisely the job I need it to do.

Top willpower!  I dunno if I'd have been able to walk away - always fancied a Dimension.  Well done!
