They have pushed bass playing further but the music doesn’t resonate so much. This used to be Jaco for me although I’ve now found there’s lots of music he contributed to that I do like. From the opposite perspective, I was also thinking of Michael League, who I admire as an arranger and band leader more than I do as a bass player. 1 Quote
