greentext Posted January 17, 2024 Posted January 17, 2024 (edited) $2,399 - YIKES...... Edited January 17, 2024 by greentext Quote
wateroftyne Posted January 17, 2024 Posted January 17, 2024 I wish that lot would invest in a decent camera, so I've got the option of smearing grease on my laptop screen if I want to. 2 Quote
hiram.k.hackenbacker Posted January 17, 2024 Posted January 17, 2024 (edited) Looks much the same as a previous version to me. Money making p!55 take. Edited January 17, 2024 by hiram.k.hackenbacker Quote
MartinB Posted January 17, 2024 Posted January 17, 2024 For $2,399 I expect them to at least paint the damn thing 1 Quote

Cato Posted January 17, 2024 Posted January 17, 2024 The Joe Dart models seem to be a backwards evolution of Leo Fenders greatest hits. We've had Stingray, a Jazz and now a P. Wonder if we'll see a '51 style Precision next. Quote

greentext Posted January 17, 2024 Author Posted January 17, 2024 Apparently its the last in the series, but I highly doubt we wont see another Joe Dart sig in one for or another from Musicman.... Quote

BassApprentice Posted January 17, 2024 Posted January 17, 2024 (edited) So that's now a Stingray shaped short scale. 30 sold already....wow. Edited January 17, 2024 by BassApprentice Another 2 sold in under 2 minutes... Quote
ahpook Posted January 17, 2024 Posted January 17, 2024 (edited) It's all very well, but I suspect Joe Dart would sound like Joe Dart even if he played my washing line with some socks on it. EDIT: The faux Super8 video made me chuckle. See how authentic it is Edited January 17, 2024 by ahpook 2 Quote
Doctor J Posted January 17, 2024 Posted January 17, 2024 With a 1.5" nut. Many blasphemies have been committed on this day. 1 Quote
BassApprentice Posted January 17, 2024 Posted January 17, 2024 Say what you like about Joe Dart/Vulfpeck - they've managed to help Musicman shift 46 basses in under 45 minutes. No idea how or why, but hey. 3 Quote
mr4stringz Posted January 17, 2024 Posted January 17, 2024 Er, no thanks. Looks like an AliExpress job but worse. 1 1 Quote
neepheid Posted January 17, 2024 Posted January 17, 2024 I'm sorry, I missed it, can someone please explain to me what the fuss is about? 3 Quote
AndyTravis Posted January 17, 2024 Posted January 17, 2024 Hard no from me. love Joe Dart. Hate the basses he’s putting out with EBMM. The stuff that “broke” the band was all a Mexi Standard Jazz and a Carlos Robelli $99 bass. I think through a Roland Bass Cube 100. 🙄 1 Quote

About Joe Dart or the basses? Joe Dart is a bit of a bass hero - very handy player. Just a modern day “Flea” - lots of “better” players, but Vulfpeck (and the 300 other side projects) have absolutely exploited modern day marketing tactics and really got their names out there. The basses are aimed at rich folk who aspire to play like Joe Dart. Rather than practice, they’ll spunk £2k on a bass to pretend to be him in the mirror. I await the ham fisted YouTube takes on “Dean Town” (originally played on a cheaper bass, through a bass cube) on the £2k monstrosity through a pristine Aguilar DB rig. 3 Quote
Beedster Posted January 17, 2024 Posted January 17, 2024 I honestly think I could build that bass 😆 Quote

I wouldn't grudge anyone a bit of fame/infamy - that can only come from a place of jealousy. Quote
Boodang Posted January 17, 2024 Posted January 17, 2024 £50 worth of wood and a cnc machine.. not sure it’s worth the price tag. Quote
acidbass Posted January 17, 2024 Posted January 17, 2024 I'm always surprised how EBMM get the pickup to string alignment so consistently wrong. Another G string lost in the mix 2 Quote
