II don't even know if I would like a Stingray. I've never even played one.

You can never tell. I played a stingray, didn't like it. Played a bongo, loved it. Played an OLP, which is a copy of a stingray and loved it, so don't know if I like them or not, or maybe that first one just had a baseball neck.

Has anyone had a punt on anybody these fantastic chances to win a bass?

It's a very well constructed facebook page with seemingly good reviews and comments spelled correctly and from people in the UK.

Obviously they make their money from selling more tickets than the guitar is worth, so slim chance of winning.

Not sure if it's this site or another but the guitarist in my band has won TWO very good quality guitars and a headphone practice amp thingy in the last six months. Some of the competitions tell you how many tickets are sold so you know your odds of winning. He's won a Gibson Les Paul and a Fender US Acoustasonic. Not bad for £5 or £10 worth of tickets.

I have a punt if I fancy the instrument on offer but this amounts to a quid a month or something. It's nice to ponder the what ifs. I guess it's Communism. We all put in and one of us gets the goodies. Like National Insurance and the NHS.

The better ones tell you how many tickets so you can see the do something like sell £1000 of tickets for a £500 guitar. The odds are then reasonable.

My mate only ever goes for the low ticket numbers where the tickets are reasonably priced rather than going for items he really wants. He does use the Marshall as his main amp now but didn't really need/want a new amp, just went for it because his odds were better.

For what it’s worth, I can say they’re definitely legit - I won one of their basses a couple of weeks ago!

it’s a Fender Made in Japan Limited International Color P-Bass. Really rolls of the tongue.
It’s absolutely beautiful in Maui Blue.  Came in less than a week from when it was drawn and is pretty much in perfect condition.

Looking at my account, I’d spent about £90 on various draw over the past year so I’m well up and should probably stop there…..

I played a few draws a week draw for a good few months but noticed the same names kept coming up as winners - certainly beyond the realms of good luck. I don't think anything illegitimate was going on, just some punters presumably buying a gazillion tickets in all the good draws. It put me off and I haven't bothered since.
