bassbiscuits
Hello, I’ve got a load of Markbass kit but have fallen in love with the sound of an Ashdown ABM Evo II head that’s in the rehearsal room we use. I want to see if I can borrow it to try through my MB cabs. I’m aware it might be a bit like mixing Silk Cut and Marlboro as they are aiming at rather different sounds. Anyone else tried an Ashdown head through Markbass cabs?
Skybone
Why not take your MB cabs to a rehearsal?

police squad
I happily run my Ashdown RM500 evo II through a Markbass club 1x15. sounds good to me, for bigger gigs I add a MB 2x10 for more spread. I also have an Ashdown RM 4x10 that I use. I'm really not that bothered which cab I use

Ed_S
I've played Markbass LM2 and LM800 heads through an Ashdown ABM410T, and I've played Ashdown ABM600, ABM1000, MiBass-550 and RM800 heads through a Markbass STD104HR. The 104HR maybe went a bit louder than the 410T before getting 'shouty', but aside from the weight I honestly didn't think there was all that much difference between them where it mattered. I also played Hartke, Mesa, GK, Orange, Peavey and Ampeg heads through that Markbass cab while I owned it, and to my ear they all sounded like what they were.
