Paddy Morris
I know a few people on here are fans of Evah Pirazzi Slaps, as am I. I was wondering how often people change them? My E and A strings have started to sound a bit lifeless. Well, to be honest, the E string always did, but the A has really dropped off recently. Mine have been on since about 2019. They get a fair bit of hammer under normal circumstances, but due to the pandemic, they had a pretty substantial holiday on 2020. I was hoping to get a bit longer out of them to be fair, as they don't come cheap. Was wondering how long other users would expect them to last? Beedster
Four years/fair bit of hammer? Think you’ve not done badly Paddy?
PaulKing
Mine have all been on for similar periods I guess, not showing any signs of needing to change yet. I'd expect to get a few more years from them yet.
Paddy Morris
Well, in the meantime I put an Oliv A on, that I bought cheap and haven't managed to sell on. I'm liking it. I'll bet I don't get 4 years out of that!!
Bloopdad1
I get 2yrs max out of a set of Evahs (playing around 4x a week 80% arco). I think they're still ok after 2yrs but when I put a new set on its immediately obvious that the last set were completely dead! Solid core steel strings last for decades, synthetics not so. I've switched to Temperas as I've been promised they'll last at least double the service life of Evahs. We shall see...
Paddy Morris
That's interesting. I plain plain gut on D, G and I had expected those to go before the wrapped synthetics. But seemingly not. They're still actually improving after 4 years.
