Fender Dimension Basses

I had a Dimension USA Deluxe HH for a while. Loved the tones (the 5 position switching was great), loved the neck, but found the body shape a bit odd, like there wasn't quite enough of it. It was also a little neck heavy. Extended the strap button on the front horn to fix that, but that annoyed me too. 😬  If money was no object, I’d have switched it all to another body. Have Fender used those pickups anywhere else?

I Lied. I remember seeing one of these on a music shop wall and tried it. I have never played a bass with a worse setup. I was really disappointed. (this is not a joke)

Don’t think so.

 

This topic comes up occasionally about possible upgrades (mods) to Dimension basses since nobody seems to stock the pups off the shelf. There were some complaints of “clicking” when the strings touched the pole-pieces……..but hardly something that couldn’t be fixed by a decent set up.

Yup, seen it.  Fortunately for my continued gear abstinence, I'd like any colour other than that dirty "not quite black".  If a white one comes along at a good price, I'm in trouble
