Totally agree - I don't think I've every managed to get through 1 listen of either "Hardwired" (Anthrax's "For All Kings" was vastly superior to Hardwired) or "72 Seasons". The songs are overly long & the riffs are generic/boring. I would also agree that "Crack The Sky" was a brilliant album and they haven't bettered it but every album is way better than anything Metallica have put out in the last 15 years. Lozz196
Just watching this at the moment, am not a particular fan of the band but my thoughts are that for a lot of it JH is making (having to make) a big life change and for a good chunk of it LU doesn’t seem to be able to understand it and because of that appears unwilling to offer any help to his mate. Or maybe this is my impression having been in similar situations myself (me having been in the JH position).

But I'm able to do so as someone who was lucky enough to see Pantera a couple of times back in the day. There must be plenty of younger fans eager to hear that music live but for me, nah. And also, Anselmo.
TimR
What have I started... I saw Metallica and Anthrax at Donington in 1987. The mosh was crazy. It was raining, clouds of steam were rising from the crowd and the smell of damp leather and p... filled the air. I think I may have a Panterra and a Dokken vinyl LP somewhere. I only know about the collecting nazi memorabilia stuff, which I'm OK giving people a pass for, like it's definitely not advisable, but it doesn't necessarily mean they're a racist, or at least it didn't at the time. I reckon some of the people in Metallica were actually racists, and the stuff some of them have said/done would have been treated with derision in the circles I'm in then as it is now. I hope I don't have to add lemmy to the list of scumbags lol.
TimR
He wore his 'Nazi Memorobillia' for a photo shoot in Germany to promote a gig. Which is illegal there.

That's pretty insensitive. He is on record, many times, as being very anti racist. There's a very heartwarming old American TV interview where a young boy writes in saying his dad won't let him listen to metal because it's white music, and Lemmy's response is excellent. Anyways, imagine how good Metallica would have been if Lars hadn't kicked Dave Mustaine's dog??

You've gone from slandering all of them, including Filipino Kirk and Cliff, to just some of them. What did Kirk and Cliff do which lead you to accuse them of being racist, out of curiosity? Sure, Hetfield was a tool and I'd imagine him and Rose in a room together at that time was hardly a shrine to enlightenment, but do you really think a band who have been paying Mensch and Burnstein, their jewish management, 20% for almost 40 years really believe in National Socialism? Think about it for just a minute.
Graham
The thing about Metallica in the 21st century is that they keep releasing albums that should have been EPs If the last four albums had been cut back to about 20 minutes, they'd have been fantastic. Well, so long as they didn't ruin them when mixing/mastering them

Great gig . As for pantera, I was a fan initially . It took me a while to get used to the drop tuning at the time. I saw them at the Kentish Town forum ( town and country ) . It was one of those rare gigs that wasn't really memorable .Not a bad gig as such . TBH, all I can remember was them playing Walk and Phil shouting f##ing hostile a few times .
