Apparently it's very rare and collectable...

Erm, yeah

Oddly enough they are fairly rare and collectable - to some people anyway. Though some people will collect almost anything and I'm not sure that translates into £325. :)

I am strangely drawn to that .. but at a few hundred less :)

I never understand this: "would benefit from a new set of strings." so put a new set on!
It's a music shop - so that's, what? £5 to make it much better?

Daft

Ouch! Kinda makes this Rosetti that was in my watch box a bit of a bargain eh.
£57! it could be a bag of whatsit but for£57 i would have had it. strange though, i'm no expert but it's an odd looking Rosetti.
Yup I seriously considered this flight of fancy but unfortunately there are plans afoot for something more practical and ultimately more gigable so I let it slide.

Ah - Ed Friedland has one of these and would seem to love it. These were made by Egmond, a dutch company in the 60s, and I bought something very similar from dangerboy a while ago. It has a more Precision like shape and is without the gorgeous vinyl covering, but aside from that (and a different selector switch) is identical to the one in that auction.

Check out the pics in his ad.

I actually wanted the whole vinyl/mother of toilet seat/Jag-style cheeseyness of one like Ed's, but dangerboy's one does me just fine. It sounds great incidentally, as long as you like 60's style retro thump!
The bass in the OP reminds me of the (IIRC) Gibson RD bass... weren't they pants as well? :) Only joking Gibbo owners.
They weren't that great in the grand scheme of things but were one of Gibson's best basses IMHO, Probably says more about Gibson basses than that model in particular!

I had a well gigged '77 RD Artist in all natural, managed shy of £500 for it which makes this look extremely overpriced

My first bass was a Bass 7 by Rosetti. It was utter, utter sh*te. I see that there's a neck and body for one on ebay for a ridiculous price. In fact there's a singlecut double pickup version of the one I had, with a similar ghastly greenburst, for £500 in another auction.
