Black or cream?

Black for me. The cream ones remind me of bakerlite. 

 

Too old fashioned. But if that's the look you're going for then I guess they work.

Depends on the magnets in the pickup: Black for alnico, cream for ceramic

Cream sits better with the upside-down headstock. It screams "funk" in every sense.

I would normally say black but the reverse headstock seems to need cream.
