mikegatward
Hi all Lookiny for some guidance as to a replacement for a Sadowsky pre in a Shuker pj bass. The ideal choice was a John East uni-pre 4 knob but I’m not convinced the cavity has room for it. The 3 knob version might fit but I’d need a new pick guard I’ve attached some pics to show the space available in the cavity and would appreciate thoughts about what 3 band 4 knob set up might fit. Thanks in advance
NancyJohnson
I've got John's circuits in three or four of my basses...the three knob Uni-pre. They're decent units. It can be a bit of a squeeze to get everything in, plus a battery, and in smaller cavities it's not pretty, but it's worth the effort. mikegatward
I’ve got j-retro, p-retro and u-retro in other basses but I just don’t think the uni-pre will fit in here.the glockenlang 4 pot unit looks a lot more compact
Muzz
I've got a 3-knob/2-switch Uni-Pre squeezed into an Epiphone-bodied Thunderbird, and they're not exactly big in the cavity; IIRC, you can buy the East Pres as individual pots/mini boards, that might work, given that bend in the cavity...
