franzbassist Posted February 5, 2024 Posted February 5, 2024 (edited) At about 1.14 in, what effect is this? Octaver and fuzz, or synth bass perhaps? I have found out that bassist Hagar Ben Ari uses: Boss OC-2 Octave Electro-Harmonix Micro Q-Tron envelope filter Electro-Harmonix Bass Micro Synth MXR La Machine CSP203 fuzz Red Witch Zeus Bass Fuzz Suboctave Eventide Space Reverb So I assume it's a combination of one or more of these. Any ideas? Edited February 5, 2024 by franzbassist Quote
iamtheelvy Posted February 5, 2024 Posted February 5, 2024 There’s octave down going on there. If using the pedals listed above, I would guess either the OC-2 with octave down isolated, OR the EHX Micro Synth on a low octave. There’s a bit of grit too, so potentially the MS again, or one of the fuzzes with a lowish gain setting. Quote
snorkie635 Posted February 5, 2024 Posted February 5, 2024 That Ripper switch is set to the 'out of phase' option giving that slightly distorted hollow tone. Quote
Downunderwonder Posted February 6, 2024 Posted February 6, 2024 Looks like a chick on the bass in the vid, named Hagar???? Quote
Bigwan Posted February 6, 2024 Posted February 6, 2024 Microsynth I think, or a combination of octave, fuzz and envelope to produce the same effect. Great little mashup that... Quote

Whatever they might identify as they are named Hagar and got boobs. I am not sure why that is a problem though, or what that has to do with the 70's for that matter.
