Publishing is an incredibly tough business with lots and lots of interdependencies and deadlines.

 

If you’re messing around with it, you’re going to run into problems - which certainly seems to be the case here.

 

Shame. Thankfully you should all be covered by PayPal.

So I guess print day for issue 14 will be tomorrow since yesterday and today is weekend...

Issue 14 should in theory be with us within 1-2 weeks... max..

I'm gonna give my issue 12 and 13 till the middle of next week and then 'carefully' worded contact will follow.... If you get my drift

 

 

Where was he at the show? Upstairs? I didn't see him once all weekend.

He had a small stand in the bass hall upstairs.  Twas just inside the door....

Disappointingly still no magazine, it's nearly April and only had one issue all year. Is it actually still going

Issue 11 was the last one I received. 

Issue 14 will be due soon. I have contacted Dan (again) to ask what's happening...?

SO..... I have had a reply from Dan....

He has refunded my last two subs for Feb and Mar... And says has had distribution 'niggles'....

Also is gonna send those two missing issues, somehow I don't think I'll get them...

 

I have also sadly cancelled my ongoing subs as I am fed up with the whole thing and I don't think his problems are gonna get fixed anytime soon...

I also suspect (as a result of the situation) he has lost advertisers, which must be a big blow...

Which is a shame 'cos I like the mag and Dan does seem a really nice guy... But....!

 

Has anyone else ever received issues 12 &13...?

Interesting reply from Dan, 

If the magazines are printed how come we are not recieving them. 

It's had niggles since the start, I've had a few not arrive over the past year. 

I agree he seems a nice guy but we are still paying for a product that does not arrive.

I'm going to wait one more month then decide.

It still blows my tiny mind that once upon a time, a lifetime away, I read those first BP issues back to front and inside out wondering what it'd be like to write for what was the premier bass mag on the planet at the time. Fast forward (a couple of ha ha) years, I'd get to write my very own column each month. Crazy!

I think a lot of the people subscribing to this have been incredibly patient and forgiving of something that is just not reliable and never going to deliver. The lack of comms is what gets to me.

 

It's a nice gesture but if it were me, I'd have kicked it into touch a while back.

Hopefully it's a blip and they can sort out the issues in time.
