Burns-bass Posted March 17 Posted March 17 Publishing is an incredibly tough business with lots and lots of interdependencies and deadlines. If you’re messing around with it, you’re going to run into problems - which certainly seems to be the case here. Shame. Thankfully you should all be covered by PayPal. 1 Quote

(mine are) Print date is 15/16 of the month with delivery to subscribers shortly after...... !! So I guess print day for issue 14 will be tomorrow since yesterday and today is weekend... Issue 14 should in theory be with us within 1-2 weeks... max.. I'm gonna give my issue 12 and 13 till the middle of next week and then 'carefully' worded contact will follow.... If you get my drift Where was he at the show? Upstairs? I didn't see him once all weekend. Quote

BassBiscuit Posted Sunday at 09:32 Posted Sunday at 09:32 SO..... I have had a reply from Dan.... He has refunded my last two subs for Feb and Mar... And says has had distribution 'niggles'.... Also is gonna send those two missing issues, somehow I don't think I'll get them... I have also sadly cancelled my ongoing subs as I am fed up with the whole thing and I don't think his problems are gonna get fixed anytime soon... I also suspect (as a result of the situation) he has lost advertisers, which must be a big blow... Which is a shame 'cos I like the mag and Dan does seem a really nice guy... But....! Has anyone else ever received issues 12 &13...? Regards. 1 Quote
attackbass Posted Sunday at 10:22 Posted Sunday at 10:22 Just bring back the US Bass Player Magazine from the mid 90s please. 3 Quote

It's had niggles since the start, I've had a few not arrive over the past year. I agree he seems a nice guy but we are still paying for a product that does not arrive. I'm going to wait one more month then decide. Thank you for posting 👍 Quote

It still blows my tiny mind that once upon a time, a lifetime away, I read those first BP issues back to front and inside out wondering what it'd be like to write for what was the premier bass mag on the planet at the time. Fast forward (a couple of ha ha) years, I'd get to write my very own column each month. Crazy! Quote
Sean Posted Sunday at 20:33 Posted Sunday at 20:33 I think a lot of the people subscribing to this have been incredibly patient and forgiving of something that is just not reliable and never going to deliver. The lack of comms is what gets to me. It's a nice gesture but if it were me, I'd have kicked it into touch a while back. Quote
Dood Posted Sunday at 20:50 Posted Sunday at 20:50 Hopefully it's a blip and they can sort out the issues in time. {edit} excuse the pun! Quote

On the offchance you've not seen it, online only Bass Magazine is (maybe was) written by folk from the US BP staff, and is usually produced to the same high quality https://bassmagazine.com/issues/ Quote
attackbass Posted Monday at 16:51 Posted Monday at 16:51 Hi yeah, thank you I was aware of that. I think between various podcasts, YouTube my bass playing mates and basschat I don't really feel the need to read a magazine anymore. I think if bass player existed and looked as if it was from 1995 then yeah I would probably buy it for nostalgia! Quote
stewblack Posted Monday at 17:16 Posted Monday at 17:16 I never got my free bass strings, and they have never responded to any emails. 1 Quote

Sean Posted Monday at 21:31 Posted Monday at 21:31 For those you ancient enough to remember, I wonder what wisdom BigBeefChief would offer if he read this thread? Quote
