Bass Review Magazine

Update:

Despite the Shop app telling me my magazine hasn't been shipped, I'm now holding my copy of issue three.

It seems pretty good although the lack of details about writers and publisher make me wonder if Dan is doing everything.

I picked up issue 5 (obviously, because I got a pedal in it) but found the articles much better in this one. Anyone have it? think the same?

Waiting for my hard copy through the mail still.

Dan still takes forever to answer any questions so I feel he is doing all this on his own.

Hi all.

have ordered all editions (print version) since Feb and issue 1 in UK.

just paid for magazine  number 7 (July)

STILL no sign of any strings (just sent second email to the office-no answer to the first one).

anyone else had theirs/still waiting like me?

May just give up-not too impressed with it (seemed like a good idea but just looks like a very generic - and thin- glossy mag with tonnes of ads/paid for reviews (from the looks of things) and nothing too insightful).

shame really…

I ordered issue three, print copy, about ten days ago. I've received nothing and no one is replying when I email. Maybe this is a one person operation, but it's not giving me a warm fuzzy feeling.

Has anyone else had any developments?

Those who are talking about the strings, you don't get them until month 5 so that sounds about right.  Not about to send strings out until you've at least covered the cost of them!

Any links to any articles?  Can usually spot AI articles a mile off.

Hi Kev, correct we have shipped strings to subscribers a little earlier, anyone who hasn't recieved them can contact us at bassreview.com and we can help get them sent.

@Sarah BRM...

Good evening, Sarah...

Just a short word that may help a little when using this Forum. You can bring your posts to the attention of any Member by preceding the Forum name with an arobas. Continue to type the User name and a drop-down list will fill up with Members with that name. You can then choose the one required from that list; it will be seen on-screen in orange, like your own User name above ^^.

This astuce will bring the post to the attention of that User, making sure that he/she sees it. Try it..? Hope this helps; meanwhile...

Have a great day.

Hi

i have just received new issue (nice to see someone I know-Yolanda Charles- being interviewed!).
BUT- after multiple emails etc I finally got a set of strings from Dan.
HOWEVER - they were the wrong set (that is, a rather unusable set of drop tuning 60-130…?!). Dan replied to say this should not have happened and he’d send a set of pink slinky’s as should have come out.
still waiting…..

sorry-really not impressed so far (far too much effort for an introductory offer which was for a student’s bass-I’ve now had to sort a set myself).

so far I’d say there’s a distinct lack of ‘original’ content (today’s interview with YC not included) - seems to be mainly generic content and adverts?

must be LOADS of British/US etc bassists happy to do an interview (Phil Mulford, Ian King et al) - a couple of these per issue would be fab (eg from different genres/backgrounds)?

thanks for coming on for reply personally

Phil

I finished up with a set of Rotosounds instead of the Slinkys. I've given up...
