TRBboy Posted February 16 Posted February 16 Big shout out to Jim Dunlop Guitar Products! I've been using Super Brights for probably around the last 10 years, they've been a revelation to me; REALLY easy to play, with lower tension than anything else out there, without feeling floppy, GREAT tone, and they last a super long time! I've never had any problems with them, however in December I was stringing my bass and the cores in a couple of the strings snapped. I contacted Jim Dunlop, and they sent me not one but TWO replacement sets! Now that's what I call customer service! 😊👌❤️ 6 Quote
uncle psychosis Posted February 26 Posted February 26 I absolutely love the nickel wound super brights. They were a revelation when I found them. I do wonder if the name puts people off. I don't think they're particularly bright at all. 2 Quote
fretmeister Posted February 26 Posted February 26 I've just put a set of the steels on and they are far less bright than I expected - in a very good way. Nicer feel under the fingers than D'addarios too. 1 Quote

I completely agree, it's a really stupid bit of branding! 😅 I find the initial brightness dulls fairly quickly, and then they just sound sweet and consistent for AGES. 1 Quote

fretmeister Posted February 26 Posted February 26 They seem to have more low end than many steels as well. It's almost a shame that I'm currently without a band! 1 Quote
fretmeister Posted February 26 Posted February 26 ... and then I remember, no arguments, no organisation, more sleep... And It's not a shame anymore! 2 Quote

Definitely, I run the 40-120's on my 5, and despite them being light gauge and low tension, they sound huge! 1 Quote
