What will the inept teenager be tonight ?

:whoopass:;)

Definitely not, he’s violent enough as is (and I'm not joking, he’s seriously hurt me a few times in the last few months and I’m desperately trying to get help with him).

And as if that weren’t bad enough, I spent a night in A&E with him last night after he flipped out and I had to call police and ambulance to assist.

:( A “care” reaction like on Facebook would be the best here

Just grabbed this from Facebook marketplace at a very reasonable price, the discontinued Yamaha Nathan East parametric eq box. Not truly an effect pedal as its always on, but i thought it fitted here best.
Plans are to re home in a more standard pedal sized box with both a true bypass footswitch and a 9v supply socket (currently battery only).
This is the third one of these I’ve owned over the years but the intention is that this one is a keeper.

Latest haul this 2025

My friend from talkbass offered the Proton and Omnicomp for a straight trade for my Neptunium, an offer I couldn’t refuse. Now my Fliptop is partnered with a Brough comp for my micro board project. And I’ve completed the 3leaf trifecta. No issues with shipping as my colleague from work was in the US and was few minutes away so he kindly offered to bring it here.

Just waiting for the latest Doom2 that I’ve ordered in the last drop. Hoping 2025 will be a great year for our GAS desires!

Dr Scientist Dusk - Blackout Edition. The text is there, it’s just black, so you can only see it when the light catches it. This is my second Dusk and they are both going on the same board, so I don’t need the details twice ;)

This is bumping my Broughton JoshWah off the board and into classifieds. Love this pedal so much.

I plan this to be my only pedal purchase of 2025. I’ll let you know how that goes! Ha.

Based on the Korg MS-20 filter these are great. Only reason I moved mine on is the inability for all parameters to be stored as preset data (frustratingly some key ones aren’t included). Wonder if you have mine (mine has an personalised thankyou note from Ryan inside the baseplate).

Well worth adjusting the resonance trimpot if you haven’t done so as you can get those cool disco-style self-oscillating bloops.

I’ve been using a standard one for ages (purchased new a few years ago). This one was purchased direct from Ryan, after he found one blackout enclosure in a dusty corner - so both from new. I’d been holding out until I found a different enclosure so it’s clear on the board which is doing what (one is a sweepable LPF, the other used for LFO and regular envelope, while being swept by the first one).

Also had no issue getting self oscillating out of both without the need to adjust the internal trim, so I’ve never bothered playing with it since the day I got the first one. For how I use it, stock is perfect for me. I might revisit it a bit on this one to give me some different options… but I do have enough wild stuff going on already :)

It's arrived!

received_650629460655424.thumb.jpeg.433777ab6d391967bd33361f26a7cdaa.jpeg

And it sounds bloody brilliant.

Quite a wide range of sounds with the two slide switches. One very 'present', one dark and doomy, one almost an octave distortion effect and one that is a bit meh.

The dual volume instead of blend is unusual but works well.

@lee650 might be worth looking at; I remember you raving about the original.

This arrived today and is really nice.IMG_0584.thumb.jpeg.4abc61c98bb55c4cf00e424faa30de8a.jpeg

Think I may have an emergent problem though:

Absolutely brilliant pedal. The functionality on it (not to mention the routing flex) makes it easier than some of the alternatives to make part of a set up too.

I’ll message you on Saturday about some of your wanted ads.

It is great. The only real thing I wish it had were a bypass switch. Looking forward to trying out some of the other IRs once I get an SD card sorted.

It's a lot of fun. I reckon it will be very giggable with the bass (uneffected)  fairly high and a bit of the flat out fuzz just adding character.
