Quatschmacher Posted April 3 Posted April 3 (edited) The balance has been restored to my bass universe. (And this is definitely better than the Behringer clone.) Edited April 3 by Quatschmacher 8 Quote
Jean-Luc Pickguard Posted April 3 Posted April 3 (edited) After being greatly impressed by Zpor's vocal effects in Henge, I ascertained from a live video that he was using a Roland VT-4 Voice Transformer and its forerunner, the VT-3 to transform his voice. I found that the latest model in this line appeared to be the E-4 Voice Tweaker so I picked one up secondhand. Unfortunately I found it rather a phaff to use, so I also got a VT-4 which arrived via the bay of E this morning. My initial impression is that the VT-4 is much more accessible with better I/O options & phantom power on a balanced mic input, although the E-4 does have some cool features not included in the VT-4 — it can be used as an audio interface without drivers, it has a built-in rechargable battery, and the looper & scatter feature are interesting and warrant some experimentation. Not sure whether I will keep both, but I'll do some recording with them and see how I get on. Edited April 3 by Jean-Luc Pickguard Quote
MrDinsdale Posted April 3 Posted April 3 Grabbed another HX One, I sold the last when I decided to get the Quad Cortex. I really love the form factor of these and they’re great to bring some fun to the table. I think ive pretty much narrowed down my shortlist of pedals for a smaller board to: Canvas Tuner > The Accountant > HX One > Science Mother > Two Notes Opus I may need a bigger board to add the Black Math or Longsword for extra dirt but I think this might just do the trick for now 👌 1 Quote
tayste_2000 Posted April 3 Posted April 3 Third time lucky with the JF Capo. 2nd Cream Pie I got across the weekend. 2 Quote

BabyBlueSound Posted April 5 Posted April 5 (edited) Boss Tera Echo 2! The weirdo digital reverb. I thought this will be useful mostly when I want to record some spacey guitar backing track for myself, or drone around. I was wrong, welcome to the board, Mr Always On! If I turn the effect volume down a bit, then set feedback and spread time to minimum, it just adds a very nice "body" to the sound by adding just a tiny bit of roomy reverb. It just makes the notes sound more exciting. CAN'T TURN IT OFF NOW! Edited April 5 by BabyBlueSound 1 Quote
AndyTravis Posted April 5 Posted April 5 Mandela effect… ha. See what I did there. i used one of these years ago and recall a certain sound it did. I’m not sure it does it 🫣 1 Quote

chilli Posted April 6 Posted April 6 Meris Enzo X Sold a fair few pedals and a pedal board to get here, somehow managed to buy a couple more pedals in the pre order to delivery time . Not new to Meris, owned and sold an M7 and still have Ottobit Jr. I'm liking this pedal alot, some presets are meh, some YEAH and some are F**king awesome. Every aspect of a preset sound can be edited. Display shows in realtime what is changing (there's the main page as shown above, turning Pitch, Filter, Volume or MOD dials brings up a sperate page, then there is the editing page). Display is crystal clear and a little aluring (even with sticker still on). Very easy / intuitive to edit / work around the pedal. I play an EUB (NS Design WAV 4) and the majority of presets have no problem with open E or high notes on the G string. I've a few pedals and so far only tried the Enzo X into Chase Bliss's Onwards and MOOD MK2 and it sounded immense. Not gone near the MIDI side yet. My olny gripe and this is being picky, is there is a one second delay when changing between presets. 3 Quote

I’ve been a long time user of the og Enzo and I’m excited to try this version out now that stock has landed in the UK. I’ve just sold my little Enzo to partially fund the X. I know you’ve been using it with your EUB but have you tried the poly mode yet? I found the original didn’t track bass chords at all and hoping the X will be better. Congrats on the new pedal! p4ul Posted April 6 Posted April 6 (edited) I just got my grubby little mitts on this rather awesome pedal from Horayforanonyms above 😀 However, I may need to grow another brain to understand it. Also probably gonna have to add an expression pedal and a little midi switcher for extra complexity and a deeper dive into its Gargantuan soundscape. Edited April 6 by p4ul 3 Quote
Jean-Luc Pickguard Posted April 7 Posted April 7 Not sure why I bought this. I snagged it on ebay at a good price but I have no room on my all-boss bass pedalboard and the eq on my ABM600 does everything I need it to do. I'm sure it could come in handy for quick eq changes or as a clean boost. 2 Quote

I use one of these with my upright - it handles the impedance matching between my amp and the piezo pickup, functions as a pre-amp, and winding down the '50' slider removes most feedback. 1 1 Quote

Had a bit of a mess about with it and it does have some genuinely useful sounds in there. It will live in the studio and be pulled out occasionally. Happy days. Quote
MrDinsdale Posted Tuesday at 13:36 Posted Tuesday at 13:36 Incoming EAE 0xEAE Bass Driver Very hyped for this one, clanky Traynor inspired drive. Was already in the market for a Rusty Box or similar so this was a no brainer. 3 Quote

This sounds a lot like my COG Knightfall v.1 however their way more variable "booty slider" is just a cut/boost switch on the COG. 1 Quote

I was looking at getting the OG Enzo just before the release of the X. I'd be interested to hear your opinions once you've got an X in your mitts. I think there's probably pro's and cons for each pedal. The X's poly preset sounds are spread thoughout the 99 presets. Some are very polished, you wouldn't know there's a bass guitar anywhere in the signal path (same for some of the other presets but every aspect of preset sounds can be edited). A couple of poly presets did seem to struggle a little with tracking, for me it was the higher notes in a chord. Sadly I didn't have time to see what and if I could change this in the editting settings. Most, to my ears and playing tracked well on EUB and guitar though. 1 Quote

bassbora Posted Wednesday at 12:29 Posted Wednesday at 12:29 I will be trying this one out after work. Never had an octaver from Spencer but I have GR3, Wonderlove, Proton Mk4 and Doom2 so I expect this to be on the same level. 4 Quote

Shame you never tried the others so won’t be able to describe what’s different. Please could you upload some clips of the sub signal at various tone knob and overdrive switch settings if you are able. Quote
