I still have my brown GE-7B from the 1980s.

Everything was brown then.  Oh wait, that was the 70s.  Where's your neon GE-7B from the 80s then?

Cool. Shame you never tried the others so won’t be able to describe what’s different.

Please could you upload some clips of the sub signal at various tone knob and overdrive switch settings if you are able.

Hey I am not in a position at the moment to do any recordings, it would just be just using mobile phone and that would not do it justice.  Hopefully there will be demos soon, through some circumstances I got it really early.

I can just give a quick opinion after playing around with it yesterday. I had been using OC5 for a bit and I liked it but I like having couple of different pedals for similar usage and T47 came up here and I have to say it suits me better. So I have been gigging the T47 for some time now and I really like it. The M3.33 is in similar ball park tone wise (of course OC2 derivatives) but I think the tracking is better. Or at least it felt like it. I had been at a practice the night before getting the M3.33 and I was playing the same stuff and it sounded great.  I still have to play around with the Tone and the overdrive switch more but I most of the time kept the Overdrive switch on and I really liked it. I was also running it into Doom2 and IE XD (which just makes everything sound better). I was getting very similar sounds as from the T47 but as I said I need to play around more with the Tone but it was really impressive.

I will reserve final judgement on the pedal until practicing with my bands and gigging but I am really  impressed and I really like it.

In the 80s all Boss bass pedals were brown.

Just bought a GFI system Skylar, and a Strymon Bluesky, sadly this is also giving me some headaches, I use Yousician for practice at home, but its detection system is so touchy that now i have so much latency in my pedalboard that Yousician doesn't detect my notes in time, but outside of practic they are extremly great sounding pedals

Just bought this modded OC2 from here. I wanted a single pedal which I could throw in the loop of my Meatball filter to give an octave synth sound, so this is perfect as it gives both octaves with a delicious fuzz which pairs with the filter perfectly.

Nice I bought the Cog T16 and The Pearl Octave

Also have an MXR Bass Octave Deluxe inbound so can have another shootout and decide my preference.

The MXR looks like it has lots of useful options. I did look at the MXR with the built in fuzz but it doesn't take a battery which put me off, as when I use this it'll be added to my pedalboard without actually being mounted, sort of like a guest patch-in. The OC2 uses so little battery that it'll work fir a long time before it needs changing, whereas using the MXR I'd have to have a separate adapter or a spare output from my Cioks and a messy loose cable when it's not being used.

I'm one of the lucky few who managed to type fast enough.

I expected it to just be an aesthetic update, but the circuit is an improvement over the original mk.iii. The way the tone knob and 'overload' (FKA the 'Tim' switch) interact in a much more musical and useful way, especially when stacking with filters, drives and fuzzes.

Really want to check this out. How does it compare to your mini?

The mini and the Mk.i are muddier by comparison, there's less separation between the dry and the octave. But you can get that All Sub sound if you want (I prefer to hear the the two as separate). Plus there's far more tonal variation when you start playing with the Overload switch and the tone knob.

I have the MKII, which is my favourite of all I’ve tried (original, Mini, MKII and MKIII). I really didn’t like the MKIII very much (at least with my basses).

I'm yet to try a mk.ii and everyone says it's their favourite. And I don't think I will for a reasonable price!

These are my latest 2 pedals - wet week here so giving them a work out

the FTT is a very powerful unit. I turned all the EQ flat on my old Ashdown IMG_1212.thumb.jpeg.f775e7b4eb931d4c1b1820f098445c79.jpegKlystron and crikey there’s more than a few options

the Brown Boss LM-2B is an excellent pedal. Simple but the shit

What do you think of the Pearl OC-07; do you know, by any chance, how it compares to the OC-2 sound and tracking wise?

It will be a few weeks before I have them all in-front of me.

Far as I know the Pearl tracks like the OC2, its the original John Davis Nerve sound, just the oc2 is more robust for the road so he ended up moving to that.

I had one 10-15 years ago but I wasn’t as familiar with using octaves for synth sounds, now I’m excited to try it again and see how it fairs against the more common suspects.

I have been using MXR bass octave deluxe. Like it. It would be nice to hear some of your reviews about it also.

My thoughts on octavers are there are generally two types, the more accurate natural sounding mxr bod, aguilar octomizer etc and then the really synthy OC2 type, that the Pearl and I assume T-16 fall into.

As it’s so hard (expensive) to find an octaver that is footswitchable between mixed and 100% wet, I find it’s easier to have two.

So far (and I haven’t played my recent BOD but I’ve had 2 previously) this is most musical and natural sounding octave I’ve played. I’m heavily inspired by Michael League’s use of his and that’s why I’ve picked up another.

Then the T-16 and Pearl are going to fight it out, it’ll probably come down to space/size but I’m keen to see if they beat out my Sonicake Octaver which (to me) is a very accurate OC2 clone for next to nothing.

Attached is the route I’m thinking, only the oc2 would be the pearl and the phat phuk the Cream Pie Deluxe (as neither are on the planner). I don’t need it all at once but it’s melting my brain trying to find a way to have small pedal boards for little projects here and there when I’d like all those creative options just there to indulge when it suits.

To keep inline with the thread, my latest pedal purchase is a Mojo Hand 442 filter, my favourite but I’ve so far only been able to track down the guitar version 🤷‍♂️ probably fine, worst case I think it’s a simple mod to make it the bass/red version.

Deco v2 I’ve had sat for like 4 months waiting for me to grab it.

Capo is the third I’ve owned and relatively new to me.

Bod as above

Wetter box I need to buy and I’m still deciding if this is excessive, mainly depends on if I stick with the capo and deco.

Pearl (shown as an oc2) as above

Isn’t the left knob of the BOD their take on a oc2 type octaver and the right knob a EBS style octaver?

That's my take on it. The "Growl" knob is the "pokey/synthy" type of octave, the "Girth" is the more organic "fat/sub" kind of octave. Really useful having them on separate knobs and being able to fine tune the amount of each. The Aguilar Octamizer does the same kind of thing, but they are combined onto one knob as a "filter" that goes from subby and fat, to more synthy and pokey as you dial it up. Both pedals are fantastic, and I really like the mid boost switch on the MXR. I went for the Aguilar and love it so much I bought a second one, like Steve said, for being able to have blended and sub only options at my feet without having to change settings.

Sounds like I’ll be selling the T-16 and Pearl then 😅
