Matching the strap to the bass?

I use one of these with each of my two main basses, one of which is black and the other white.  The straps are both black - because black goes with everything.  The straps are decent quality, functional and pretty reasonably priced.

Slightly ashamed to admit that I generally choose the strap to match my stage outfit rather than the bass..... 🤭

 

Mrs Shaggy teases me for having more straps than she has pairs of shoes, one reason being there’s a couple of excellent local custom makers.

Looks like the Teal Perri's strap is a good match for my thunderbird so I'll have to order another.

 

...I wonder whether matching strap blocks that don't have 'Fender' on them are available.

Etsy's full of them.  I found this one by searching for "mauve guitar strap".  Not sure if this one's a better colour match, but it's not as fancy either.

My favourite strap, however, matches the roasted maple neck/fretboards on several of my basses, not the body and I think it works quite well.  I'll post a pic soon.

The OP's teal strap would look great on a fairly pale natural wood finish. What's that you say? Why yes, I suppose my ACG would be a good example of that kind of finish, since you mention it.

What I've realised from reading this thread up to now is, I need more straps, lots, who doesn't love options and buying stuff they don't need?!

Also reminded me I have a Minotaur bass clef strap in a case that has been banished to the shed by SWMBO, must dig that out..
