What signature model bass would you say transcends the artist?

For me, The Harris P bass is quite simply the best p bass I have ever played.

Granted I'm a bit of a fanboy, but once I played one, I knew that irrespective of the squiggle on the back of the headstock this was THE p bass for me.

Can the Hammers Logo be removed?

I get that, before my short-scale days I`d have quite liked the Sting Precision but, well it`s got Stings name on it. He`s a fantastic musician but, well just but.......

doesn't bother me on my Ray

Flea Jazz. Unlike most signature basses it offers an excellent value way to get a vintage style and sounding bass. Good enough that I won't be buying an AVII Jazz anytime soon, despite having an AVII Precision.

D'Addario make Fender's Strings. Either way it is a small compromise, and an easy one

Their clip tuners (Fender colour and Daddario Eclipse) are identical aside from packaging. I have one of each.

I believe they make Fender strings.

Showing the YouTube algorithm works: a video of multiple basses, almost half of which are signature basses:

how good does the Fender Marcus Miller bass sound? Its the standout for me from that list, the boy Miller certainly knows something about tone 😎

He has a lovely tone. Hearing that was enough to have me taking out my active jazz bass yesterday. I love the jazz tone but the active preamp (currently a 3 Leaf Anima rather than the stock Fender preamp) allows for a lot more exploration and nuance and puts it into similar territory to the Marcus Miller bass in the video (or, unexpectedly, StingRay territory).

no, it's painted I think, then laquered . I had one, lovely lovely bass, just too heavy for me and someone did say to me about drunk idiots that hate West Ham, would they start on you at a gig?

I didn';t have any trouble at the 3 gigs I used it at.

It's was too dang heavy and had to go

Best P bass neck profile (to me). B width at the nut, rest of it chunky as 👌.

Great sound due to the heavy Ash body but too heavy for me to live with one unfortunately.

They'd be brave lads to start on the chap with a four-foot lump of wood in his hands!
