One just basic bass sounds and one pack all new effects presets I'd not known these were available. Cheers for the heads up.
russ.c
Does anyone know if this will fit into the recessed jack socket on an Ibanez Soundgear? I am envisioning some interference between the unit and the body of the bass.

I've seen videos of people using it on a strat, so I'd assume so but i can't confirm The jack can be angled about 130°

Worst case just get a small male to female 1/4 patch cable and run it a bit away from the bass. https://www.amazon.co.uk/PNGKNYOCN-Extension-Amplifiers-Instruments-Microphone(55cm)/dp/B09BHH8DP7/ref=sr_1_10?crid=2LHKLGTEWV74M&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.qDCo5pMz2kG5dNhVXdHqLkUrCSw1ZZU4wFIyjJqvdfIhpwgS_PTJXIMFFcsVLSL9Fo9fmXWMphjUS4oOcdB6YMNiNUSWF0GlHAXOPSoFjXDNInA_g6hl7yYUYtX1fsN5ivzA17-o3k4URPLSIO64f3oJYAq8vm6edTlSA5mH3IIrgGA2Mc4t8CBRX8cCZWK_xBhfHuA4U1Ryt_Om6kxjMCA4GJTkGMUiFXsqVNiP1ko.NL7k5uyoxaUGw0OJ1NFhMydqBFRnSOEXd9jnNbePqeE&dib_tag=se&keywords=1%2F4inch+male+female&qid=1713900163&sprefix=1%2F4inch+male+female%2Caps%2C131&sr=8-10

tauzero
Have any of you delighted new owners also had Nux Mighty Plugs and feel it's enough of a step up to make it worth buying? Having a few effects is nice but the main purpose is simply as a practice device.
PaulHornBass
Picked one of these up and I am pleased with it. At first I was put off by the array of presets, and struggled to find something inspiring. Having spent a bit more time with it, I find both the Vintage Basic and Vintage Comp have an old school tone that responds to variation in attack in a way I like. The tuner and 'stage feel' are welcome bonuses, too.

tayste_2000
I cancelled my order with gear4music as I had a Gruv Gear Kapsule I’m not going to bother with now holding up the order. Re-ordered the last one on Amazon and should be here Tuesday.
MrDinsdale
Yeah I cancelled with thomann as they said they had no eta, hate grabbing stuff Amazon but it’s the only place with stock. Should be here tomorrow 🙌 I've got the GT1000core so intrigued how much they managed to squeeze in to the GO.
MrDinsdale
It arrived today! Literally had 60 seconds on it, just plugged it into the guitar I had nearby and blown away by the quality. I was expecting it to feel pretty harsh and lacking depth but it sounds remarkably good. Looking forward to getting some bass tones in for when the child falls asleep in the car and I need to keep an eye on her and all the other situations where I fancy a noodle but can’t.
tayste_2000
I’m hoping it’s better than the Nux, mine has dispatched and will be with me tomorrow. Even got a bass with me to test it.
MrDinsdale
Had 20 mins with it, first impressions on bass were a little less exciting flipping through presets but as soon as I created a patch from scratch it took very little time to get something good in place. Quite like the Vintage amp, didn’t really dig into the fx much but the comps are great. EQ blocks are pretty similar to the GT1000 so just mimicked my settings there. Drives sounded a little buzzy but drives always need tweaking a fair bit I’ve found, some more EQ should help. One thing that seems odd is that the collection of drives on Bass mode seems to be really restricted, no RAT and it’s missing some other really good drives I’d want to try out. It’s clearly designed with the strat style front mounted jacks in mind, all my basses and guitars have output jacks on the side so the GO doesn’t really stay in position that well. Overall though sounds great, well beyond what I expected. If you’re after a handy practice tool this really is incredible.

Significant step up, sound quality is much better, tuner on the device and there is an octaver (2 even) Clean sound is great. Fx’s are good enough for when I practice and as above there are octavers. I won’t have to break out any of my pedals for practice now.
MrDinsdale
Yeah I just plugged mine in for a quick 5 mins on my lunch break in the garden, got carried away and now have no time for lunch 😂 It really does sound great. Managed to play around a little more and get a decent enough driven tone too.
tayste_2000
I wouldn’t contemplate trying to hack into something I could use live, but for practice it’s ideal. Excited to have time again tonight to practice.

Aside from this, the main bug bear I had with my previous Mighty Plug (non-pro) was Bluetooth. The latency when playing along with youtube videos, particularly ones with tab/score was unbearable. A good second out of sync. I also discovered that it added a significant bass boost to Bluetooth streamed audio. The Katana:Go fixes both of these issue. Oh, and there are octavers, and pitch-shifters. I wrote to Nux about this a couple of years ago, before the Plug Pro was announced and they said their hardware didn't have enough dsp for pitch-shifting. I was dismayed to see the Plug Pro didn't either.
tayste_2000
Honestly I think my favourite thing about this is the tuner on the side and the fact you can use it and activate it without getting your phone out.

Usually my Audio Technica ATH-M50x at home. Or I can use my Sennheiser IE400 Pro gigging IEM's if I need a quick run-through of something before we start playing.
