Chrisan2 Posted March 23, 2024 Posted March 23, 2024 Interesting how the body looks new but the fret board has been aged. Quote

Sting is so good he doesn't even need his basses to intonate correctly. 6 minutes ago, Chrisan2 said: Interesting how the body looks new but the fret board has been aged. I am pretty sure that is due to glitches from the poor resolution of the image. Edited March 23, 2024 by Baloney Balderdash 1 Quote

Fair enough, point taken. Makes me wonder if it could be the old original neck from his main bass that has been transplanted to this new body? (Edit!!!: Guess it is not, since it lacks the Fender decal on the headstock) Edited March 23, 2024 by Baloney Balderdash Quote
sblueplanet Posted April 3, 2024 Author Posted April 3, 2024 Spotted a new Reel for the Sting 3.0 Tour on Instagram. The new bass still hard to make out with the fast editing. https://www.instagram.com/reel/C4ibECLs890/?igsh=MW4xbWFxOTk4bXdvOA== Quote
tobiewharton Posted April 4, 2024 Posted April 4, 2024 I think it looks rather nice - I wouldn't buy one at any of Fender's/Squier's price points but that's not the bass' fault! Quote
sblueplanet Posted June 11, 2024 Author Posted June 11, 2024 Anyone know what this is? I wondered if it was a D-tuner. Quote

Pea Turgh Posted June 12, 2024 Posted June 12, 2024 You’d think he’d buy a new T-shirt before a new bass - he’s grown out of that one. 2 Quote

gjones Posted June 13, 2024 Posted June 13, 2024 I always wondered why he started using those old woolly sounding Tele basses. The bass sound is so essential to those old Police songs, you'd think he'd pay something that you can hear clearly live, like his old Ibanez. Hopefully his new bass will be an improvement. Quote

To promote better break angle over nut? It defo says Fender on the headstock. Has to be a Customshop bass. Maybe someone will do an article on it as the bass gets more coverage. Quote
sblueplanet Posted June 15, 2024 Author Posted June 15, 2024 Wonder which tracks he uses the Hipshot for? Quote
sblueplanet Posted June 15, 2024 Author Posted June 15, 2024 Found a recent clip where the hipshot is in use on 'If I Ever Lose My Faith". Pretty much sings all his songs now not in the original key. https://www.instagram.com/reel/C8Oa8oWt9j6/?igsh=aWxpcmxheDU4a2Rh Quote

police squad Posted June 16, 2024 Posted June 16, 2024 Maybe a left over from Eddie Van Halen's work interesting pickup though, looks to be about the spot of a normal P bass 2 Quote
