He seems pleased with it.

Sting is so good he doesn't even need his basses to intonate correctly.

Interesting how the body looks new but the fret board has been aged.

I am pretty sure that is due to glitches from the poor resolution of the image.

Watch the video, the fretboard is very patchy and worn - artificially or otherwise.

Fair enough, point taken.

Makes me wonder if it could be the old original neck from his main bass that has been transplanted to this new body? (Edit!!!: Guess it is not, since it lacks the Fender decal on the headstock)

You’d think he’d buy a new T-shirt before a new bass - he’s grown out of that one.

He’s got loads of similar ones that he rotates on a strict rota - they’re his Synchronici-tees

I always wondered why he started using those old woolly sounding Tele basses. The bass sound is so essential to those old Police songs, you'd think he'd pay something that you can hear clearly live, like his old Ibanez. Hopefully his new bass will be an improvement.

Unusual string tree placing

Yes, and the headstock seems further back if you know what I mean? Might be just my eyes.

To promote better break angle over nut?

It defo says Fender on the headstock. Has to be a Customshop bass. Maybe someone will do an article on it as the bass gets more coverage.

Looking at the T shirt I 'd guess that he has cats.

What is going on with the routing for the pickup?

That makes it look like there is hope for me yet in my aspirations to be a luthier.
