Pickup ring orientation

I am butchering/finessing and old Yamaha I have. I have noticed that the pickup surround rings are angled. And not in the same direction. What does that mean and should they be angled the same?

TIA

Yes Mate...

'Gibson' Set-Neck Esq... usually stop n tail bridge normally have the angled rings of 2 sizes... Small size and edge to neck..  large size and edge to Bridge.

As the neck is usually laid back 5 deg-ish... plus the archness of the body

So the pickup poles distance from the underside of the string stays the same, even if the strings run further away from the body as the go to the bridge...

'Fender' Bolt-ons necks are usually more parallel-ish to the slabbier body, and less height difference pickup to pickup and string to body, while the pickup pole to string underside stays the same

Strange i had angle surrounds on a Epi Bolt on LPish... swapped en for flat.

The Yam Set or Thru-neck?

Thanks. I was struggling to make sense of them. It is a bolt on. I am not together enough as a guitarist for it to make a blind bit of difference. But it was strange to look at.
