Owen Posted March 26 Share Posted March 26 I am butchering/finessing and old Yamaha I have. I have noticed that the pickup surround rings are angled. And not in the same direction. PaulThePlug Posted March 26 Share Posted March 26 (edited) Yes Mate... 'Gibson' Set-Neck Esq... usually stop n tail bridge normally have the angled rings of 2 sizes... Small size and edge to neck.. large size and edge to Bridge. As the neck is usually laid back 5 deg-ish... plus the archness of the body So the pickup poles distance from the underside of the string stays the same, even if the strings run further away from the body as the go to the bridge... 'Fender' Bolt-ons necks are usually more parallel-ish to the slabbier body, and less height difference pickup to pickup and string to body, while the pickup pole to string underside stays the same Strange i had angle surrounds on a Epi Bolt on LPish... swapped en for flat.
