YouMa
The pickup looks like a filteron. Edited May 15, 2009 by YouMa
allighatt0r
So is anyone on here going to go for this? I can't see it going for much with the description and title of the auction... Does anyone know what it actually is? Or is it just a crap Frankenstein?
Happy Jack
Looks like a home-made Bitsa to me. Not sure about that pickup, YouMa, I reckon that's a Hofner 'Staple' pickup from the 60's. And the arrangement of volume knob + three slide switches look suspiciously like salvage from an early Hofner 500/3, but with a completely inappropriate volume knob stuck on. I doubt that the Bigsby is an original fitment, and the bridge appears to be a piece of aluminium window frame. It's definitely worth 99p, mind, so that's fair. The Burpster
Its a kncaked 6 string bigsby mackled onto a home made body with what looks like an Epiphone neck..... worth about...... 50p (except for sentimantal value for its maker!)
RhysP
Stanley Clarke used to have an Alembic with a Bigsby trem - it's on the cover of one of his albums. That pickup looks NOTHING like a Filtertron.
skankdelvar
But given the crap pictures, it could UNDERSTANDABLY be confused with a DynaSonic
Happy Jack
Coming back at you, but without the Bigsby. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Electric-Bass-Guitar...%3A2%7C294%3A50 If he manages to sell it for even the £40 start price, then he's acquired a Bigsby for £22 + a cheap bridge + some strings. That's probably not a bad deal, actually.
Bassassin
What does he mean: "a 'floating bridge' leads the string to the neck"? Looks suspiciously like his parts-box replacement bridge has string spacing far too wide for the fretboard so he's screwed a bit of bent metal over the stings to try & shove them closer together. Well, who needs strings that vibrate, anyway? Yee, and indeed, ha. Jon.

Mr. Foxen
He's also selling the Bigsby as a bargain compared to the £140 new ones, even though the arm is missing, possibly broken off.
