glassmoon
Good day all you bass builders. I want to get a headstock decal made, but I have no idea where to go. Any pointers, ideas, options? My thanks in advance. Julian aka Glassmoon

glassmoon
A stupid question perhaps, but short of sanding the headstock to remove the existing logo....is there a "better" way to strip off the current logo?
songofthewind
You can buy decal paper online. I have made two-colour logos for a bass, and it is very easy. You will need to sand off the existing logo, and apply a coat of clear to seal in the new logo. It sounds daunting but it is not.
glassmoon
Thanks @songofthewind I'm not sure what sealant to use, but I'm sure my local B&Q person can assist. Now to peruse Amazon for the decal paper 😄
songofthewind
I got my decal paper from eBay. I only needed one sheet. I had painted the bass above using good quality auto rattle cans, and used the same brand clear coat to finish. Homebase, B&Q etc have similar products.
glassmoon
I've found the (Sadowsky) logo on etsy and several other places. I'll see which one is best. I'm also considering asking Roger Sadowsky directly if I can get a genuine one... My wife says I should look for a stencil, transfer the letters to the wood, and not a decal. Will see about that too. I'm sure Sadowsky uses a print stamp
benh
I've used decals from www.guitardecals.co.uk on a few occasions and they have been top notch, and reasonably priced
