If anyone is 'on the fence' with buying this one, just buy it!

These really are fantastic basses, usual faultless Yamaha build and with the soapbar and piezo bridge PU, coupled with an uncomplicated 3 band eq, there is a surprising range of tones. From light and airy to deep thump, but with the soapbar pretty much in the P sweetspot it always punches through a mix.

Andy hasn't put me up to post this, I just love these basses (I have two), and if you're debating it you should just buy it, you won't regret it. 😎

Yeah - sonically it does a great Jack Casady/Woody P.

The 3 band Eq is ace - I just wish I had the balls to defret it, but I have that sound covered without devaluation of a lovely bass.

Lovely thing.

I have one which was reboarded without frets, by its then owner philw of this parish.  It's going nowhere.

You can hear it here (Phil playing):

Go on @AndyTravis De-fret it! I mean, just listen to how the fretless one can sound (I was such an idiot to let that bass go)!

P

You buy it - rip the frets out…you’d be such an idiot not to 😉
