Any fan noise?

Hey sorry about the very late reply but no significant noise from the fan at all. My valve amp is noisier.

Can confirm now. I picked up a second hand one. The EQ is effective and lets you dial in vintage, modern, funky, scooped, fat or whatever vibe you need. Goes loud quickly too. Only thing it's missing is character, there's no form of saturation or drive. Very portable, affordable, fine backup.

Yeah could do with some drive but I also like how neutral it is. I can use one of my drive/preamps for character.

Tech 21 VTBass 500 is my current Class D of choice. I'm absolutely loving the array of tones I get from it (paired with a TC Electronic K 212 cab....I need a matching one!). The tube 'emulation' is really good.

I have my eyes on either a Terror Bass or little bass thing from Orange, they both seem like solid options. Just awaiting my ampeg rig to sell before buying.

I’ve had both, much preferred the LBT as a nicer amp tone

It is not worth buying the PF500 second hand as the first 7 or 8 iterations of the printed circuit boards had major  design issues. The PF800 and PF350 seem to have avoided them.

And I was lucky enough to have one 😂..

I must try a Reidmar at some point.

If anyone is looking for a cracking amp, there is a Mark Bass AG1000 Andrew Gouche sig model in the classifieds. I have one of those and it's a great amp. Excellent EQ.

I tried out my TE1200 tonight with the band and it’s very very nice sounding

I know it’s not 500W but it’s an impressive amp for sure

I love my TE Elf but it’s just not got enough headroom to gig with - does the TE1200 sound like an Elf just louder ‘cos that’s what I fancy!

Like the Elf plus a lot more extras with the awesome dual band compressor

Truly great amp
