Hi,

I currently have a Yamaha RBX JM2 for sale. It's two years old and has barely been used; I play a Fender Custom Jazz 24 as I prefer the thin neck and Jaco-esque tone to a rock tone (I am currently after a good double bass if anyone is selling one, so would consider a trade; preferably a 3/4 size Stentor).

This bass is no longer in production, so if you're after a good six string and/or are a Dream Theater/John Myung fan then this is the bass for you.

I am selling her for £450. If interested then send me a message with any questions or necessary contact information...

Thanks,

James

Ah ok then fair play. Come to think of it, i think they used to make a rather nice one in red too?

The one I have is the Plum Purple.

I will take some pictures tomorrow and add them to the post. The bass is in excellent condition...

On the John Myung picture, the X inlay on the fingerboard looks one fret wrong...you'd think that the centre of it would be between the 11th and 12th fret, thus designating the position/marker of the octave. It's actually between the 12th and 13th, so technically the centre of the inlay is one fret sharp of the octave position.

That said, I doubt that it's actually on the fingerboard for any other purpose than design over functionality.

See, that's where John went wrong going to Yamaha.. Had he have gone to Jon Shuker, he'd have gotten it right first time..

Second time too

Then just to rub it in, make sure everyone can see it from the back of the crowd!!

lol.....

Anyway, The JM bases are lovely. The spacing is a bit wider than I would like, but they have a nice amount of grunt to their sound!

I confused this with the Yamaha model before this (2 pups) and almost had a heart attack...Panic over.
I'm a big Myung fan but I don't dig this model as much.

However someone should snatch it as said, they no longer make these.

nice subtle plug for shuker there dood! :) (how tight is the spacing on your girls if you find the JM2s too wide?!)

+1 on the JM having grunt! stingray-like quality to the sound

That Shuker is a work of art; I've never seen anything quite like it :)

Following your advice, I've finally got round to taking some photos. Before viewing, just a forewarning that I'm a musician, not a photographer...

I managed to play one of these today in Birmingham PMT - it was pretty damned nice. They're £700 new so this is pretty good !

I thought they'd discontinued the model? Seeing as Myung is a Musicman endorsee now n' all.

Have decided to put this item on eBay. If in the meantime I get any interested here then I can stop the auction. In the mean time, here's a new picture to whet your appetites...

I was going to express some interest in this meself, but not sure if I could do a six string justice!

A DT obsessed mate handed this over to a friend a few years back, was talking about this model last night as they've been using it to record. I'm suprised this hasn't gone yet as they had nothing but good things to say about it.

Tell me about it - I guess there aren't as many DT fans or people interested in six string basses as I thought there would be. If it doesn't sell then it's not a problem; I can just leave it in it's case for a bit longer to gain some more value.
