Most unusually for me I have pre-ordered one of these.  Hopefully with a few mods will be a decent enough and gig-able substitute for the real thing.

Matching headstock and a bound neck as far as I can see. Dot and binding always looks better than blocks IMO

Yep! It's a 1966 reissue minus the lollipop tuners. Looks great.

HB7s with lollipops very much most of the upgrade plan.  Not much else although depending on the sound, a KiOgon loom may be on the shopping list.

I bought the bass from RichTone (£399), but the seem to have disappeared from their product listings now.  Maybe there are going to be fewer in circulation than I thought.

I can confirm that adding lollipops will look absolutely stunning.

A question that also troubled me.  At least two retailers are still taking order so I have tried with Thomann on the basis that they may have good purchasing power.

 

Quite annoying really as I bought the tuners in case there was a rush on them as well.  Still I'm sure I'll find a good use for them.
