okusman
0000 Steel Wool. Quite a weapon in the shining of frets. My grubby 88 Squier neck looks quite sparkly!

Norris
A Dremel with a polishing wheel and a dab of fine cutting compound such as Meguiar's Ultimate Compound will take it to another level again If using steel wool mask off your pickups, or you'll never get it off

LITTLEWING
I swear by this stuff. I always do the backs of necks and go up the sides including fret ends. This smooths the board edges too and makes a ‘meh’ neck very playable. Yes, try and tape off the pups but if any stray bits do get attracted just get a lump of Blutac and dab the bits off. Dead easy and 100%.
