getting the hang of it now. dissappointed that the high pass filter knob affects the DI output AND the cabinet. I use the HPF to stop the stage boom but want the FOH sound bod to apply or not apply HPF to suit.

With the DI in the "direct" or "pre" modes, the HPF shouldn't affect the DI out.

Unfortunately, their owner's manual block diagram forgot to include the bottom control, so there's no way to know if it's supposed to be applied in "post" mode.

Which is quite typical for Boss/Roland and a real shame.

Too true but the foh will lose the fx eq etc. Fingers crossed a firmware upgrade will allow a bit more control of the hpf routing.

I've had this amp for a few months

And was the same trying to get a good sound that I like

In the end I used the global EQ setting

It has parametric and graphic EQ

I used the graphics EQ settings

On my laptop and it sounds great 👍

I'd forgotten about that. Good call.

The graphics eq is in the System settings section. Does that mean it's a global setting for all presets?

I believe so yes.  My MS3 had a similar global EQ and that definitely worked on all the effects presets.

Just tested and confirm global EQ does indeed work on all settings.

Have got rather confused with all the presets and options available so have just decided to use it straight as it comes. An amp with a nice compressor, drive, 3 effects built in and a blooming on off switch on the front, not often seen these days! Got it for £350 from bass bros. Well pleased! First gig on Saturday.

I actually use the three preset channels rather than the "front panel". They are all set the same apart from the combination of effects used, ensuring gain and compression remain constant.

how do you eq on the fly, on the bass or on the panel? Doing it on the panel if you've set a preset what you see on the knobs isn't what you're actully getting. Now whilst gigging i would be far too confused!

I just set 3 effects that I like

And set the memory button

To a nice present with reverb

For my EUB sounds great 👍

Ah, i havent tried my eub yet.

I almost always run my amps flat and tweak on the bass, normally just by panning between the pickups, so not an issue.

I have always said that you set your amp for the room, then use the tone controls on the base for the sound you want.
