Bridge wire

Something I’m just wondering about here.

My Stingray has an earth wire going to the underside of the bridge where my Spector Euro doesn’t….both are active with an East in the Ray & an EMG BTS in the Euro. I always thought an active bass didn’t need this wire

Is one a bass with active pickups, and the other a bass with passive pickups and an onboard pre-amp?

Aye could be the answer right enough, Euro has active pickups & the Ray’s pickup is passive

EMG pickups don't need to be earthed. Not sure if that applies to all active pickups, however.

I think the above answers are correct. Any active bass I've had has been passive pickups and an active preamp - and they've always had the earth wire to the bridge.
