Was the 'Jim Deacon' brand ever known by other names?

Recommended Posts

I'm playing my Jim Deacon short scale P a great deal at the moment and I'm thinking about getting another one to turn into a PJ.

I can't find a lot online about them other than they were something to do with a Scottish company, but it seems there was a possibility that identical specs were made under other names as well.

If anyone has any information I'd be grateful to have it so help my search for a good one.

We used to sell them at a music shop I worked in during the 00's. They were an 'own brand' bought in by a buying cooperative of independent music retailers, of which we were a part.

They were good for the money, may have come from the same factory's "SX".

Ace. That will help.

If you had told me I'd really love the short scale, narrow but chunky neck, and the tiny string spacing at the bridge I'd have said you were mad.

But with a good pickup and a set of La Bellas it sounds absolutely fantastic.
