I couldn't believe this really, but check out what I've just found on Youtube! And presented by Jools Holland!

If they'd grabbed instruments from a school's music department it would've proved their point a bit better.[/quote]

We got given one a while ago, it was such a piece of trash that we left it inside an old piano and no one has touched it in about 6 or 7 years.

Er, I don't think it was Charlie Parker but Ornette Coleman who played a plastic sax. But that was a 'proper' plastic sax - as opposed to a toy.

And on the third day, the Lord said; 'thou shalt not argue with Marcus Miller!!' :)

My apologies. Charlie Parker sold his usual alto just befor a concert to buy drugs. Dizzy and some other band members scoured the neigbourhood to buy him a new new sax. The only one they could find was a Grafton plastic sax. He played the concert and Ornette Coleman followed later.

The Grafton is a perfectly fine sax in the right hands, especially if it's been coated with Charlie Parker's mojo :)
It was an attempt to make a sax using what was then state of the art materials. I wonder if we could get Status to try .. Now that would be a horn ...
