Denon AVR X3000 Receiver No Output

Recommended Posts

My living room AV processor stopped working for no obvious reason on Saturday morning.

I switched it on as usual and the home screen from the Humax PVR showed but without sound.  I switched off and then on again but this time, nothing.  The TV could no longer see anything connected via HDMI and there was no sound apart from the quiet "pft" that always accompanies an input change.

None of the sources work despite the AVR display showing the input change as if nothing is wrong.  I've initially tried unplugging and re plugging cables but that has not changed anything.

What do I do next?

I assume your setup is like mine? Everything plugged into the AVR box and a single HDMI into the back of the telly?

Could it be a duff HDMI cable?

A duff TV input?

Duff output on the Humax?

Is there another HDMI input in the TV that you could try?

Or another TV that you could use for test purposes?

Or try the Humax box direct into the TV?

You’ve probably tried those permutations but there might be one you’ve missed…

I had left the job of disconnecting the processor for a time when I was in the right frame of mind.  Yesterday I thought I'd turn it on before disconnecting anything and bugger me if it didn't spring into life as if nothing had happened!

I am mystified.  Still, I am not one to look a gift horse in the mouth so I shall think no more about it unless the problem re-occurs.

Just wanted to bring this up to date.
