I think to get any customer service at all on a 15 year old amp made by a previous version of the company is not bad, certainly not terrible in my book. They have confirmed that the pictured driver is indeed a double magnet neodymium driver and not a chinese audio unit. They've offered to sell me a replacement driver for 39 Euro, with shipping, VAT and import duty it'll be around the same cost as the Basschat solution but not as good.
