2pods
Having had a number of TE amps, cabs, and combos in my time, The last 4x10 combo I had (Think kit was while they were still owned by Kamen/Gibson at the time) had this Harmonic Emphasis switch. It was great for when my strings were passed their sell by date....made them sound new. However, I liked the sound for some other things too. A quick google tells me that, according to TE, this was produced more by an exciter type fx than EQ. Any ideas on how to recreate it live ? I think I may have an old Aphex Bass Xciter pedal somewhere, but wondered if there any other options ? It's a pity that it couldn't be recreated by EQ, as I have a few options in that direction. Baloney Balderdash
I can't help you, but you might have more luck asking in the "Effects" sub forum.
alexa3020
How about the presence knob on the Sansamp bass driver? Or the behringer bddi if you're on a budget. Sounds like it might do a similar thing.
Bill Fitzmaurice
'Harmonic Emphasis' probably indicates a device that adds a high frequency clipped signal to the clean signal, which is what Aphex did.
2pods
I'll dig out the Aphex then. At first I thought it would be something like the pick attack EQ circuit in the Wal basses. obviously not

Though a HPF set high, eventually followed by a graphic EQ with the highest bands boosted some, followed by and overdrive, all in an effects loop blended with "clean" signal, via for example a Boss LS-2, might be able to create a somewhat similar effect.
