HEADLESS BASS Bridge - Top down tuning system by RIVIERA Gear

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone!
I'm Federico Pecci from RIVIERA Gear. WEBSITE LINK - BASS PAGE
I would share with you what our company make!

We are a company that manufactures licensed guitar and bass bridges with an integrated top-down tuning system.
These bridges are designed to create headstock and headless instruments.
The tuning pegs are placed vertically to the bridge therefore the biggest advantage over competitors is being able to design the instrument without having to cut the back to reach the knobs.
This freedom stands in stark contrast to competitors, where compromise was often the price of going headless.

As we know the headless bass world is booming, we designed the smallest headless bass bridge on market that allows the builder to design the instrument without compromise.
Also, in combining with bass bridge, we manufacturing the Bass string locker for headstock basses.
The huge advantage of this product is to cut down the weight on the bass head, this guaranteed a more balanced instrument and smooth design.
Made in Italy.

About any question please do not hesitate to text me, i'm happy to answare!

That looks neat. Makes headless conversions simple.

Thank you! you right... No longer must the body's back be routed to reach the tuners by hand, preserving the instrument's aesthetic integrity.

Everytime I see a headless bass (or make one) I think thats clever, there can't be another way to do it and I get proven wrong time and time again.

That's very neat, very elegant and that gets my nod of approval. A bit like a Paul Hollywood handshake but significantly rarer.

I very much like that.

Having made my own headless tuners in the past (They were functional but not pretty!) I am impressed by this design, it looks very elegant ... and not having a cutaway to allow access to the tuners is very appealing.

The tuning knobs remind me a little of the ALP system, but appear more robust.

How much of an angle/bend is introduced where the ball end of the string descends into the mechanism?  It appears to be almost a right angle, how does this work with heavy guage strings (Like a .130 low B)?

We've spent several hours of prototyping to design the right angle to not damage the string. There is no problem even with a .130.

Interesting and clever design, and this is coming from an engineer. They're just a tad expensive for me at the moment, especially as I prefer 6s. I have your site saved and hope I can try them out in a build sooner rather than later.

Have you ever used one of those ALPS bridges at all? Seen them floating around on AliExpress and they look ideal for converting a bass which doesn't have enough room behind the bridge to accomodate regular tuners, ie most basses!

I've not, there is a review/comparison here
