Homatron
Does it count as NBD if a single change to a bass you've had for 25 years transforms the sound and makes you fall in love with it again?! I just swapped the pickups in my MIM fretless Jazz bass from stock to CS60s, and... Holy moly! Picture doesn't do justice to the colour. It's a lot "creamier" than the off-white it looks here.
Baloney Balderdash
NPD (New Pickup(s) Day) maybe? Anyway, congratulations. I've personally made a NOBD (New Old Bass Day) thread before, with a rediscovered bass I'd already owned for years. Lozz196
Those CS60 pickups, be they Jazz or Precision are great, really transform a bass.

Its good to appreciate the old ones, even if they need some sprucing up from time to time. NPUD has a certain ring to it.
Homatron
@Lozz196 I wasn't quite sure what to expect as I haven't played another bass with CS60s. I'd agree that they have transformed the bass into something much more than it was before!
OliverBlackman
I changed the standard US pickups in my P bass to Lindy Fralins and it significantly improved the sound. Once you make the change you think why didn’t I do it sooner!

That's the trouble... its got me looking at my Precision too. Though I'm generally happy with the tone I get from it I wonder what it could sound like 🧐
