jazzyvee Posted June 10, 2024 Posted June 10, 2024 Factory tours are so interesting. I did one last summer at the new place Rohnert Park, and also in 2012 at their old place in Santa Rosa. 2 Quote

In the Lowden one, you got to see the 'experimental' guitars that some of the builders were allowed to produce. Quote
jazzyvee Posted June 14, 2024 Posted June 14, 2024 I've had a look round the Jaydee (R.I.P.), place at two of their locations in the past. Quote
Grahambythesea Posted June 21, 2024 Posted June 21, 2024 I did the tour of the Taylor factory in El Cajun a couple of years ago. Fascinating! Quote
NickA Posted June 22, 2024 Posted June 22, 2024 (edited) Didn't realise alembic were such a big outfit. I've been to the electric wood workshop.... but as its a small converted cowshed, there isn't much of a "tour" to be had. Fraction of the size. Edited June 22, 2024 by NickA Quote
crazycloud Posted June 24, 2024 Posted June 24, 2024 I loved the early part of the video with the resin filled coloured burl tops. Then later Mica explains how the different tops change the tone, so I wonder what the resin filled ones sound like? Plastic? I'm not knocking Alembic as I've owned 5 of them, but that was very de-GASsifying for me, I'm not even sure if I'd order one if I won Powerball. Quote
